HYDROCEPHALUS patient Peni Manulevu, 8, has made it to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital with the help of a good Samaritan.
Makarina Dikasavou and her son travelled from Labasa to Suva on Sunday by ferry, riding high with the hope that a cure will be possible for Peni.
From his hospital bed at the children's ward, Peni said he was hoping things would improve for him.
He said more than anything he wanted to be normal.
He wants to play and run around like boys his age, but right now he cannot even support the weight of his growing head.
Ms Dikasavou believes that while they wait for Australian surgical specialists to give their opinion on his condition they are happy for the gift from the good Samaritan.
"This man called us and said he could help us," she said.
"It's like God is touching our lives through him.
"He paid for our boat fares. We even got to sleep in a cabin which was comfortable for Peni because of his head."
She said whatever the outcome of Peni's admission the good Samaritan had helped carry her load.
"We received a lot of calls for good wishes and I know I'm not alone in this with my son, there are kind-hearted people around to help," she said.
Peni had a scan on Monday and was waiting to be further examined by doctors yesterday.
