OFFERS of help for eight-year-old Peni Manulevu continues to flow in after this newspaper highlighted his plight.
Healthcare facilitator from India Vivek Kumar Bhagat yesterday wrote to the Fiji Times saying he wanted to help Peni.
M Bhagat said he would look for the most cost-effective treatment for Peni if given his medical report.
"I have helped a good number of patients from Fiji in accessing economical and successful treatments here in the past," he said in his letter.
Peni's mother Makarina Dikasavou said she was grateful for all the support they were receiving.
Peni left for Labasa yesterday after visiting surgeons from Australia who told him he could not be operated on because of sores on his head.
He was told to by the visiting surgical specialists to wait for a year before he could go under the knife.
The boy suffers from the rare medical condition, hydrocephalus, also known as "water in the brain".
He was discharged from the Colonial War Memorial Hospital on Wednesday and was staying with relatives at Vatuwaqa.
Peni said he was disappointed that he was not able to undergo surgery this year but had no option but wait for next year.
