TOURISM Fiji is keen to remain focused on its goal of transforming challenges into opportunities and meeting the challenges with accountability for the industry.
TF chairman Patrick Wong said the expulsion of the Australian and New Zealand high commissioners was a political issue and Tourism Fiji did not see it as having an impact on the industry as Fiji was well placed geographically within the South Pacific.
He said the industry was a friendly people's business and that Fiji had always been a safe destination.
Mr Wong said under the present Government there had not been any restrictions, unrest or actions that had impacted on visitors to Fiji.
"The family segment from our traditional markets, Australia and NZ continues to make up a large portion of our arrivals, many families returning year after year confirming that Fiji meets their expectations, including being safe," he said.
"Tourism Fiji will focus on marketing and promoting the diversity of our 'Fiji product' and have many travel writers and travel agents and consultants visiting Fiji this month and early December on promotional programmes."
Meanwhile a New Zealand advisory has advised its nationals travelling to Fiji to exercise caution as there may be some risk to security.
The advisory had also called on New Zealanders in Fiji to exercise particular caution and maintain a low profile.
