OCEANIA powerlifting ch-ampion Sainimili Turner has set a target to win a gold medal at the World Masters in Europe next year.
The 56-year old strong woman who has stunned the Pacific with her strength was disappointed with the suspension of Fiji from the Commonwealth Games.
However that does not deter her from playing the sport that she loved the most.
Turner won three silver medals and one bronze at last year's championship in the US.
She was missed out this year after focusing on the Commonwealth Games which was later being suspended.
Turner said she wanted to have another shot while she was still strong.
"I believe this is a good chance for me to win my first gold medal at the World Masters.
"I'm still strong and I can still go for that gold medal as long as I am strong."
"Age is not a matter as long as you have the strength and the guts to move one."
She lifted a personal best of 465 in the 90 plus category which beats this year's world champion who only lifted 410 in total.
Turner said she wanted to maintain her top shape before competing in another international championship.
"I've been training everyday in the gym except Sundays, I still have to go and do my part at training. This is a world games and I must be fully prepared before going out to compete."
She says Fiji's suspension from the Common-wealth has deterred the dreams of younger athletes who wants to have a taste of competing against the best from other Commonwealth countries.
