Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 5:30am on Saturday the 24th of February 2018

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers is expected to affect the group from the east from later Sunday.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Some showers over the eastern parts and the interior of the larger islands. Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and few thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected. Moderate to fresh easterly winds. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Sunday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Lau and Lomaiviti group, the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands. Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and few thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Cloudy periods with some showers. Outlook for Sunday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Sigatoka / Coral Coast: Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Sunday: Afternoon or evening showers.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and few thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected. Outlook for Sunday : Afternoon or evening showers.

For Tavua / Rakiraki: Cloudy periods with afternoon or evening showers and few thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected. Outlook for Sunday: Afternoon or evening showers.

For Labasa : Fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Sunday : Afternoon or evening showers.

For Savusavu : Cloudy periods with some showers. Outlook for Sunday : Cloudy periods with some showers.

For Rotuma : Situation: A trough of low pressure remains slow moving in the vicinity of Rotuma. Cloudy periods with some showers. Isolated thunderstorms possible. Moderate westerly winds, fresh at times. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Sunday : Some showers and possible thunderstorms.
