A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR YASAWA GROUP, VANUA LEVU,

TAVEUNI, KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS AND LAU AND LOMAIVITI

GROUP.

A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR EASTERN VITI LEVU , YASAWA

GROUP, VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, LAU AND

LOMAIVITI GROUP.

A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE REST OF FIJI.

A FLOOD ALERT IS NOW IN FORCE FOR PARTS OF FIJI.

Situation: Tropical Disturbance TD14F was analysed near 16.0S 177.4E

or about 80km north-northwest of Yasawa and about 200km north of Nadi

at 3am today. TD14F is moving east -southeast at about 11km/hr

towards the Fiji group with an associated active trough of low

pressure.Tropical disturbance TD12F lies to the west of Fiji.

The potential for TD12F and TD14F to develop into a tropical cyclone

over Fiji waters is low. Meanwhile, another trough of low pressure

affects the southern parts of the country.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

For Yasawa group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Kadavu and nearby smaller

islands and Lau and Lomaiviti group:

Strong winds with speeds of 45 to 50 km/hr, gusting to 65km/hr.

Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.

Rough to very rough seas.

For the rest of Fiji: Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms

with heavy falls. Showers becoming frequent and heavy at times from

later today.

Moderate to fresh easterly winds, gusty at times.

Rough seas.

Outlook for Wednesday : For northern and eastern parts of the group

: strong northwest winds with average speed of 45km/hr, gusting to

65km/hr. Elsewhere, moderate to fresh easterly winds.

Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms over most

places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.

Outlook for Wednesday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few

thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy

falls.Showers becoming frequent and heavy at times from later today.

Outlook for Wednesday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few

thunderstorms.

For Labasa : Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.

Outlook for Wednesday : Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally

thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally

thunderstorms.

Outlook for Wednesday : Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally

thunderstorms

For Rotuma : A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ROTUMA LAND AREAS AND

WATERS.

Situation : An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud

and rain remains slow moving over Rotuma.

Over Land: Strong northwest winds of average speed of 45 km/hr with

gusts to 70 km/hr.

Over Waters: Strong northwest winds of 25 to 30 knots with gusts to

45 knots. Rough to very rough seas. Moderate northerly swells.

Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.

Outlook for Wednesday : Rain and thunderstorms.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL FIJI WATERS.

Situation:

Tropical Disturbance TD14F was analysed near 16.1S 177.6E or about

70km north of Yasawa and about 180km north of Nadi at 6am today.

TD14F is moving east -southeast at about 12km/hr towards the Fiji

group with an associated active trough of low pressure. Tropical

disturbance TD12F lies to the west of Fiji. The potential for TD12F

and TD14F to develop into a tropical cyclone over Fiji waters is low.

Meanwhile, another trough of low pressure affects the southern parts

of the country.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:

Clockwise winds 20 to 30 knots, gusting to 40 knots.

Rough to very rough seas.

Moderate northwest swells.

Poor visibility in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Clockwise winds 25 to 30 knots, gusting to 40

knots. Rough to very rough seas.
