Five in a row

Emoni Narawa

PLUCKY Police five-eighth Amani Bosenawai repeated his massive performance to boot the lawmen to a fifth in a row Sukuna Bowl victory against Army at the tfl National Stadium yesterday.

Bosenawai again was the saviour of the police team after kicking a 30-yard drop goal to seal the 14-11 win in the second spell, a repeat of last year's performance.

It was the second time lady luck favoured the fly-half.

The kicking and passing skills of the Naluwai lawman from Naitasiri at first receiver was exceptional. Bosenawai booted nine of his side's 14 points to be named man of the match.

The policeman said he had expected to repeat last year's performance.

He attributed his grand game to the Almighty and all the Police supporters.

"I ran into the field expecting to repeat my performance last year. I kicked the winning goal last year and I thank God alone for giving me the ability to repeat the achievement," he said.

Bosenawai applauded the efforts of his teammates who contributed to his enormous performance against the tough and hungrier Army side.

Bosenawai said Army displayed a tough and improved performance and was a huge mountain to climb."I thank Army the good game.

"It was tough but I'm happy we managed to hold on," he said, adding that like all players he harboured dream of wearing the national colours.

He said representing Fiji would be his ultimatum accomplishment.

"I want a national jumper one day and I'll keep on working hard towards it until I achieve my ultimatum," he said.
